Brave Little 2 Year Old Girl Saves Baby Sister From Drowning

One day, baby Araceli Betancourt managed to crawl her way out of the family home and into the backyard while her mother made a quick run to the car. Somehow, the baby, who was less than a year old, made it to the pool and fell in.

Luckily for the little girl, her 2-year-old sister Elena wasn’t intimidated by the water. Even though Elena had only ever swam with floaties, the resourceful toddler acted quickly in the serious situation.

In a moment of bravery beyond her years, Elena grabbed one of her floaties and ran back to the pool. She swam to the deep end where her baby sister was struggling and pulled her to the nearest stairs.

Using pure instinct, a 2-year-old who had never previously swum on her own successfully saved her baby sister’s life. It’s a truly incredible story.

Following the rescue, Araceli did spend over a full day on life support, but thankfully pulled through with no permanent damage.
