Homeless Man Returns $10K Check To Woman Who Lost It And Gets The Best Reward He Could Have Ever Wished For

Elmer Alvarez found a $10K check on the ground and out of the goodness of his heart decided to find the owner and return the lost money. Little did he know, his act of kindness will change his life.
“I was just thinking about how that person was feeling by losing an amount of a check like that, an amount of money like that,” Alvarez told WTNH. “I’d be feeling kind of desperate.”
Roberta Hoskie, a successful real estate agent from Connecticut and a single mom, who was once homeless herself felt overwhelmed with gratitude to have the check back. She felt compelled to help the man who returned her lost check.
“He’s a golden heart guy,” she said. “He’s a phenomenal guy.”
To repay Alvarez for his kindness she wrote him a check to get him back on his feet and surprised him with life-changing opportunities.
She has presented him with a certificate of appreciation as a recognition of his honesty, offered him a real estate scholarship, classes to help with his English, career counseling and has already arranged a job interview for him. She has even organized housing for him, covering the first six months rent.
They both have a lot to be thankful for and Hoskie hopes that one day when he is back on his feet he will follow in her footsteps and will find a way to help someone else in need.
