It’s not easy getting old! You don’t need to tell that to “Old Lady,” a lovable 10-Year-Old St. Bernard who went missing in the woods for 17 days during a freezing Minnesota winter. The frigid ordeal began when Old Lady, a rescue dog from a puppy mill farm in Wisconsin, got spooked by a sudden snowfall and ran away from her foster owner. It turns out she needed some rescuing yet again, the poor ‘ol gal!

To make matters worse, Old Lady’s thick coat of fur had been shaved down, which made her more vulnerable to the freezing temperatures. This had everyone more worried even more. So, the community came together and formed a search party but didn’t have any luck.

Then as fate would have it, after 17 long days, a man and his grandson were walking in the woods of Zimmerman, Minnesota and spotted Old Lady. Her leash got stuck in a bunch of branches and she was trapped. She was in rough shape and suffered from frostbite and malnourishment.

The Good Samaritans then called the local sheriff’s office, which then contacted Ruff Start Rescue, a nonprofit that had been searching for her. They managed to coax Old Lady with some tuna and got her into the car. Ruff Start Rescue was overjoyed to hear that the poor “pup” had been found. Old Lady proved that no matter how old she may be, she’s a survivor.
