“Unchained Melody” is one of the most incredible songs in the world. Written in 1955 with music by Alex North, lyrics by Hy Zaret, and vocals by Todd Duncan, it has been covered by many artists over the period of time. More than 1500 recordings of the classic have been made by over 670 artists in multiple languages. And The Righteous Brothers’ version is one of them.

Their cover is probably the most notable covers out there. Released ten years after the original, their 1965 version is now widely considered the definitive version of the song. It gets a substantial amount of airplay even to this day and has been featured in many films. In 1990, after it was featured in the movie, Ghost, the song made it back on the Billboard Top 100.
