Why Dad’s Poignant 21st Birthday Present To His Daughter Will Be The Last One He Ever Gives

Bailey Sellers recently turned 21 – a special landmark for anyone, but also a painfully bittersweet one for Bailey. This particular birthday marks the last time she’ll receive a card and of flowers from her father.

For the past five years, Bailey has looked forward to her birthday precisely because of this poignant gesture from her dad, who passed away from cancer when Bailey was just 16. Before he died, Bailey’s dad pre-paid for a floral arrangement to arrive on her birthday each year, up until she turned 21.

In a heartbreaking post on Twitter, Bailey shared this last gift from her dad.

“Just look around, and I’ll be there.”

She wrote, “My dad passed away when I was 16 from cancer and before he died he pre-payed flowers so I could receive them every year on my birthday.

“Well, this is my 21st birthday flowers and the last. Miss you so much daddy.”

She accompanied it with a photo of her flowers – and her father’s last words to her in the card.

“Bailey, this is my last love letter to you until we meet again. I do not want you to shed another tear for me my baby girl for I am in a better place.

“You are and always will be the most precious jewel I was given.

It is your 21st birthday and I want you to always respect your momma and yourself.

“Be happy and live life to the fullest. I will still be with you through every milestone, just look around and there I’ll be.”
