Bank Robber Aims His Gun At Kids, Then Realizes Their Dad Has Come Home From War

For one soldier, a routine trip to his local Bank of America would turn into a day he would never forget. Staff Sgt. Eddie Peoples walked into the Sarasota, Flordia bank branch and discovered that something wasn’t right. Even though he wasn’t supposed to be there that day, he did the unthinkable for his two boys, who were with him on that day.
Eddie was home on leave because his father-in-law was sick. The off-duty sergeant was with his two sons in the bank when an armed robber pulled out a gun. The robber demanded money from the bank’s four tellers, and told Eddie that if he pulled anything, he would harm his sons. Eddie stealthily reacted to the situation, as his first priority was to protect his children.
In the video, Eddie sits down with Erica Hill to dissect exactly what happened in the bank, as well as in the parking lot. Eddie describes why he felt he needed to follow the man outside of the bank that day, while leaving his sons inside. It’s a story that will leave you speechless, and also incredibly proud of our well-trained service men and women. Watch the video to see how this off-duty sergeant reacts to the unthinkable situation!
