Bikers Heard This Marine’s Remains Were Coming Home In A USPS Box. They Stepped Up In A Big Way!

When those who lost their lives serving and protecting U.S citizens return home, they deserve to have a proper ceremony that honors their memory and the sacrifice they’ve made for their countries.

It’s a belief all members of the Patriot Guard Rides share. The organization’s goal revolves around making sure all funerals for members of the military, firefighters, and police officers are not disturbed by protests and that the people attending the funeral are able to pay their final respects.

In this particular case, though, they’ve done more than this. Staff Sgt. Jonathan Turner lost his life due to combat-related injuries a year after he retired. Unfortunately, his family members couldn’t travel to the state where Turner lived to attend his funeral.

The Patriot Guard Rides, however, were there. And they decided not to let the Marine’s remains get to his loved ones in a UPS box. They wanted to make sure the man’s remains would make their way back to his family in an honorable and respectable way.

They put together a convey and transported Turner’s cremated remains more than 2,000 miles. Hundreds of volunteers worked together to make this possible. Take a look:
