Rebecca Slivinsky was shaken when her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. After undergoing treatments, mom lost her hair, and Rebecca wanted to do something to cheer her up.

Rebecca goes to grad school in Georgia, but her mom lives in a small town in Connecticut. Going home for Christmas is an exciting time for anyone. Rebecca, wanted to bring something more to her mom, than just her visit. She had an unconventional gift in plan.

“When I went home for Christmas, I wanted to give her something to let her know she wasn’t alone,” she explained. “As a surprise to my mom, I cut my hair in solidarity with her. Though miles separate us, we will get through this journey together.”

Needless to say, mom was overwhelmed with the surprise.
