Elderly Couple Overcome With Emotion When They Receive New Puppy After Tragedy

An elderly couple from South Florida was heartbroken when their beloved chihuahua was killed by stray dogs. Yet though their family was saddened, their story brought them a special gift.

Miguel and Ada Rojas were both hospitalized after their 3-year-old dog was taken from them in such a sudden, harsh way. A person who saw the news coverage on TV wanted to do something to help, and so got them a puppy. A family friend brought the 9-week-old chihuahua to the couple.

Miguel and Ada were overwhelmed by the gift. It was only one day after their dog was killed and Miguel was taken to the hospital for high blood pressure and Ada for 100 stitches after trying to defend their dog. But now they feel they can continue to live with this new puppy giving them hope. They were overcome with both pain and happiness. Their daughter explained that the dogs are family, and money is nothing compared to their unconditional love.
