Expectant Parents Are Prepared To Bury Their Baby Soon After Birth But Then A Miracle Happened

Dustin and Sierra Yoder, were told that their baby Bentley would most likely die as soon as he was born. Bentley was born with encephalocele, a fatal birth defect that caused his brain to protrude outside of a hole in his skull. The medical staff did not attempt to clean him or weigh him. His parents had nothing but a onsie he was supposed to be buried in. Everyone was heartbroken and had no hope. Poor baby Bentley was “destined to die”. Despite the odds, Bentley wasn’t going to give up and was ready to fight for his life. To the surprise of everyone, the little boy survived and clinging on to life grew stronger and stronger. Amazed, his parents tried to find a way to save him. Eventually, they met Dr. John Meara at Boston Children’s Hospital, who unlike the other doctors, gave them real hope. He used a 3d printer to create a model of Bentley’s brain and skull. After very complicated surgery, aged only 7 months Bentley survived and can have somewhat a normal life.
