When a wild raven was heard squawking near one family’s home, it became apparent that the bird might be in trouble. This video captures their experience helping the black-feathered friend.

It’s not unusual to hear a raven make bird calls out in nature. However, when one young woman heard them for over an hour – it seemed that maybe it was hurt or in harm’s way. So, she grabbed her Mom and headed out to where the raven was perched on their fence. That is when they noticed why he was upset. The poor creature had four porcupine quills stuck in its face and wing.

In the video, we see the mother (wearing gloves) removing the needles from the raven. What is so amazing is that the bird sits and lets the woman do it, even though it appears that it’s painful! At times, the bird squawks – but doesn’t once try to escape. It even lets her stroke it from time to time! The daughter reported in the video description that the bird hung around their yard for a day, before it eventually flew away. She says she even gave it a name…Bye bye Wilfred!
