Kind Stranger Stops To Help Elderly Woman Pay For Groceries

Ryan O’Donnell and his little ones were out on a grocery trip just like countless times before. They stocked up on the essentials, grabbed a few treats and headed over to the checkout line.

That’s when they heard a strange conversation between a cashier and an elderly woman who was trying to pay her bill…

The woman’s credit card had been denied for a grocery bill of less than $50. People offered advice on how to try different accounts, but nothing was working.

Without a way to purchase the groceries, the woman was taken to the front of the store to try to work out how, or if, she’d be able to pay. Ryan knew he had to help!

Ryan approached the woman and offered to pay her grocery bill! At first she protested, assuring him it was fine – but the kind father of two insisted!

He told Daily Mail UK that he thought about if his mother and grandmother were in the same type of situation:

“Realistically it was just because the lady reminded me of my mum and grandma and that’s how my mum and dad brought me up…. If you can help, you do it where and when to the best of your ability.”

Inspired by the two strong women in his life, Ryan happily paid for her groceries. When the woman asked how she could repay him, he smiled and told her not to worry about it!

A bystander saw Ryan’s generous actions and snapped a quick picture of their interaction – the image has since gone viral!
