A woman traveling with her infant son, boarded a train and found a seat in the first-class cabin and decided to sit there.

The woman sitting in the seat next to her had been using that extra seat for her bag. The mom asked politely to move it so she could sit down, but the woman declined. Then began a frustrating exchange.

The mom said, “I asked you nicely to put your bag on the floor and I offered to put it up. I’m carrying a baby, you have to respect me.”

The older woman replied, “And you have to respect your elders and betters. People have actually paid to sit in this carriage.”

Apparently, the mom had paid for a normal ticket. But she saw a sign for reserved seats for elderly, disabled and pregnant people. She figured since she was traveling with a baby that she could sit there. The older woman did not agree.
