Sheriffs Hug, Comfort Injured and Traumatized Pit Bulls After a Car Hit One of Them

It was 4:30 am and two Orange County, Florida sheriffs responded to a call that two dogs were spotted on the side of the road, huddled together and one appeared to be injured. Animal lovers, Officer Boggs, and Officer Reed arrived at the scene where they found two pit bulls, one of which had reportedly been hit by a car and the other a dedicated furry friend who refused to leave her side.
In a pool of blood, the injured dog was bleeding from a large gash in her leg. Once the pups understood that the officers were there to help them, they were at ease. Officers Boggs and Reed tended to the wounds and went the extra mile to hug and comfort them until Animal Services arrived.
A passerby impressed by what he saw captured a photo of this tender moment, showing a soft side of the officers. It also showed how open and loving both the pit bulls were despite the negative stereotypes they often get. He shared the photos with the Sheriff’s Office as proof of their good deed.
“The deputies stood by with the dogs until Animal Services arrived,” he wrote, “these pictures I took depict a loving nature from our deputies and will tug at any animal lover’s heartstrings. Thank you.” The pit bulls, now named Liberty and Justice had a fantastic recovery. Watch their adorable reunion with Officers Boggs and Reed…
