Army Specialist Vance McFarland and his fellow K9, Ikar, a Tactical Explosive Detection Dog, served together in Afghanistan. Sadly, they were separated after they returned from deployment. Ikar was reportedly sent to an independent contractor who said they had work for the dog — but allegedly failed to follow through.
