Soldier’s Emotional Reunion With The Dog He Thought He Lost Forever

Army Specialist Henry Alvarado was being re-stationed to Alaska when his faithful dog Dukey got hit by a car. The timing made it impossible for Henry to raise enough money to be able to afford for Dukey to get surgery and even if he did, there was not enough time to help him recover before he left. Under the tragic circumstances, Henry was forced to part with his best friend and continue his service.

Henry knew that being stationed at this time meant that he would never see Dukey ever again. His dog was injured badly enough that there was no chance of his survival unless he were to get surgery. That’s when something incredible happened. While Henry was stationed away, Dukey’s story was shared with Rescue From The Heart, and from there a fundraiser began.

Enough money came in for Dukey from all around the world. People heard of his need for surgery, and gave generously which covered the cost. But after the surgery and six weeks of the recovery period, they decided that Dukey should be reunited with Henry once again. But would he make it all that way?
