Stranger Dives Into Harbor To Save A Drowning Dog

Twenty-year-old Raden Soemawinata entered the Brighton harbor with one intention in mind. He had come to commemorate his grandmother’s life in a very special way by spreading her ashes. However, because of one unexpected occurrence, Raden found himself in the water, performing a sacrificial act of love. A recipient of this act, dog owner Sue Drummond, became an appreciative friend of Raden’s that day. And it’s all because of a stranger’s willingness to jump into a situation where he was needed.
Some bystanders along the Brighton bay watched as the scene unfolded: a tiny maltese-shih tzu mix named Bibi had been swept off of the dock into the harbor. In this geographic location near Melbourne, Australia, high winds of up to 60 miles per hour take place. On this particular day, the high winds were much too strong for little Bibi. Before owner Sue Drummond could prevent it, she watched as Bibi struggled to paddle back to the dock. She thought that was the last time she would ever see him again.
That’s when Raden stepped into the scene, stripping off his shoes and trousers, and taking a dive into the waters. Sue watched Raden swim to Bibi where he grabbed the tiny frame into his arms. As the two made it back to the dock, an emotional meeting takes place as Sue simply wraps Raden into a hug. Now, people around the internet are calling Raden a hero. When he had come to the dock in the first place to scatter his grandmother’s ashes into the water, he never expected to make a lasting impression in someone’s life in the meantime. We think his grandmother would have been proud of his willingness to help someone in need. This video below will steal your heart!
