This Mother-Son Duo Came Up With An Amazing Way To Help Those In Need

Maggie Ballard and Paxton, her 6-year-old son have come up with an amazing idea. The mother-son duo came up with the idea of establishing a small free pantry called the Blessing Box. They keep the pantry full with a variety of nonperishable items including toiletries, foods and other necessities.

Any person who needs an item from the pantry is free to take what they wish. Additionally, people who have more than they need are encouraged to deposit as much as they can.

Maggie and Paxton’s particular Blessing Box is located in the front yard of their house. The color is bright red to make sure it stands out clearly and can be spotted easily.

The ripple effect of their kindness has really resonated around Wichita, with plenty of people stopping off at the box to add more supplies. In fact, it’s nearly never empty!

The sign on the front of the box says: “Take a blessing when you need one. Leave a blessing when you can.”
