Woman Uses Her Wits To Rescue Dog Stranded On Busy Highway

Drivers worry about the animal running in front of their car and getting injured. Unfortunately, such incidents commonly occur.

This particular type of incident was recently portrayed on an episode of ‘Pit Bulls and Parolees’. A video of the episode below shows Tia, leader of the Villalobos Rescue Center, receiving a call about a beagle stranded on the highway.

As it turned out, the poor dog had been stranded on the highway for weeks. Fortunately, she had not gotten hurt, so the crew decided not to rush the rescue operation and accidentally put the dog in more danger.

At the time, Tia was injured and would not have been able to run after the beagle if it tried to get away.

Fortunately, being a seasoned rescuer, Tia knew how to approach with caution. Her aim was to gain the beagle’s trust by giving her treats.

This proved to be unsuccessful, so she lured the dog into a trap. Leaving out a trail of food, she backed out of view until the beagle was close enough for her catch. The dog didn’t seem to mind as she kept enjoying the food.

Tia managed to perform almost the entire rescue while sitting down. This is something to keep in mind when rescuing a scared dog! It’s important to keep calm and avoid any threatening motions or quick movements.
