‘Poor’ Kids Swimming in DIY ‘Pick-up Truck Pool’ Spark Ridicule Online, So Man Buys Them a Real One

Haters online will make cruel and nasty comments that they wouldn’t typically say to someone’s face. However, when three less fortunate kids became the subject of ridicule for swimming in a makeshift tarp pool in the back of a pick-up truck, one man said enough’s enough!

The cruelty began back in the summer of 2016 when photos of three San Antonio children were posted on Facebook showing them trying to make do with what they had. The children and their parents were targeted and called “lazy” and “poor” for not being able to afford a kiddie pool.

This struck a chord in one local man, Todd Arredondo, the owner of an urban mining company, who was also less fortunate as a child. During his childhood, he recalled a stranger buying him a water balloon because his family couldn’t afford one. This simple gesture greatly impacted his life.

Appalled by the cruelty and lack of compassion, instead of lashing back at the haters online, he decided to step up and do something positive about it. So, Arredondo tracked down the family and bought them a new pool, but he did t stop there…
